The area
Set in the picturesque Nant Bran valley, St. Michael’s Church is located at the center of the small village of Llanfihangel Nant Bran. The village, set amongst farming countryside, lies about eight miles west of Brecon.
The church
We are a welcoming church community and there are deep rooted ties with the church among the local farming community. The church itself is a Grade II listed building with a West tower that is believed to date back to the 16th century. The Nave and Chancel were rebuilt in 1882, and there a stained glass window on the East side depicting the Ascension. The church is a focal point of the area and the tranquil churchyard is home to three veteran Yew trees on the South side of the church.
