St Peter & St Illtyd, Llanhamlach

The area

Llanhamlach Church serves the villages of Llanhamlach, Groesffordd and Llechfaen including the outlying farms and houses, and also Brynich Caravan Site.  We always have a welcome for visitors and particularly for engaged couples who join our services in preparation for marriage in the church and a reception at nearby Peterstone Court.

The church

The church overlooks the River Usk and has views of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). It was rebuilt in 1887 although it retains some earlier monuments and a 15th century porch and tower.  It is a light and peaceful building, with graceful angels painted around on the east window.  For further information on the church building, click here for the CPAT Brecknockshire Churches Survey page.
